School Policies

Our school’s policy and planning documents provide the framework for the school’s operations. A selection of policies is available from this website – the full list is available at reception.

Parent Guardian Code of Conduct: This provides guidelines for the effective development of positive relationships within the School Community and assists in promoting the values that are in keeping with the School’s purpose and values.

Student Code of Conduct: Chrysalis is committed to ensuring a respectful learning environment that is safe, positive and supportive for all students of the school, providing clear guidelines to all students regarding the conduct expected of them whilst at school.

Anti-bullying Policy: Our school has a legal duty of care to provide all students with a safe, non-violent environment. Positive behaviour is acknowledged, encouraged, and modelled by all members of the school community. This policy explains the steps we follow if bullying is identified in our school.

Chrysalis Complaints and Grievance Policy: This policy explains what to do if you have a concern or grievance, or wish to provide feedback about anything to do with Chrysalis Montessori School.

 Complaints Process Flowchart: Occasionally problems arise in a school environment. This policy outlines the procedures members of the school community should follow in order to have their concerns resolved in an efficient and effective manner.

Student Attendance Policy: This policy is in effect for all compulsory school aged children at Chrysalis, that is, from Pre-Primary to Year 6.

CMS Long term Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027: Our school’s priorities outlined in a five-year plan. The strategic plan is developed with consultation across the school community, resulting in an inclusive strategy representative of our community’s values.

Admissions Policy : Identifies the procedures to be followed for new enrolments and how student intakes are prioritised.

Anaphylaxis Policy : This outlines our school’s procedures for children with life-threatening allergies. This covers requirements for notifying the school of anaphylactic conditions, application of medication or Adrenalin auto-injectors and explains the rules governing activities where children are likely to be exposed to allergens.

Anti  Discrimination Policy: Discrimination is not tolerated at our school. This policy outlines our commitment to equality with reference to relevant state and federal legislation.

Chrysalis Behaviour Support Policy : All children have the right to feel safe at our school. In cases where a student’s behaviour is unacceptable, this policy addresses our agreed procedures to help the student regulate or manage their behaviour.

Child Protection Policy  : Teachers in any school may observe signs of abuse, or students may disclose this information to a teacher. Our child protection policy outlines how teachers and staff will respond if this occurs. Click on Child Protection Notification Procedure.

Duty of Care : Our school must take reasonable care for the safety and welfare of students in the school. This policy outlines the steps we take to provide a safe environment for our students.

Privacy Policy : Your personal information is collected, accessed and maintained in accordance with relevant privacy legislation.
